Examination of vascular elasticity

The majority of heart attacks and strokes are caused by changes in the vascular walls. These changes often go unnoticed and present themselves in the late stage as plaque in the vessels. One of the first signs of changes in the vascular walls is a decreasing vascular elasticity. This can be measured with the arteriograph in an early stage which also permits determination of the vascular age. Therapeutic treatment is particularly effective in an early stage.
