MRI of the musculoskeletal system (spinal column and joints)

The MRI is ideal for scanning the joints and spinal column. Even the most subtle changes of the musculoskeletal system can be detected regardless of whether they have developed due to mechanical wear and tear or due to an acute injury. As opposed to traditional x-ray technology the MRI not only shows the bones, but also soft tissue such as tendons, ligaments, bursa, cartilage etc. and permits their evaluation. But did you know that the MRI has now mostly become more effective in the exclusion of a fracture than a traditional x-ray scan?
