Dr Torsten Schwerdtfeger – Specialist of Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine
Dr Torsten Schwerdtfeger studied medicine in Essen, specialising in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He received additional certification as an emergency physician and was active in ambulance services. Dr Schwerdtfeger had previously been a senior physician of Gastroenterology at the St. Marien Hospital in Mülheim/Ruhr before and then became Chief Physician at the Clinic for Internal Medicine at the St. Martinus Hospital in Düsseldorf. His specialties at Preventicum include examinations of the gastrointestinal tract as well as of the liver, bile ducts and pancreas and, in addition to the clinical examination and lab methods, he also has state-of-the-art ultrasound diagnostics, MRI and a newly installed endoscopy department at his disposal. Dr Schwerdtfeger is a member of the expert network for intestinal disorders and has specialised in the diagnostics and therapy of patients with chronic inflammatory intestinal diseases (ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease).
